This week:

Camp 1 Bryntirion 10-12s
Camp 5 Pentrenant Hall 13-15s
Camp 8 Bryn-y-groes, Bala 16-18s
Other matters for prayer

In just four days time the first three EMW camps will be getting underway (18th-25th July). In order to help us pray more specifically for the work I've managed to track down most of the leaders and chaplains of these first three camps and get some prayer requests.

I couldn't contact Andy Rees (pictured), the camp leader, but Jonathan Thomas, the chaplain, has asked us to pray for the main preaching meetings when they will be looking at the Faith of Noah. Please pray that they would see children:
-trusting in Christ for the first time
-if they already trust, to be able to stand up for their faith

Please pray for Steve Davies and his team as they lead at this new venue, that they will quickly adjust to unfamiliar surroundings and that the new programme will work well. There are a large number of campers who have been to camp together before so please pray that new campers will become part of the group and gel quickly.

Please pray for Pete Campbell who is serving as a chaplain for the first time. He is doing a series of talks entitled 'a rough guide to living for Christ' based on the book of Colossians.

Dan and Sharon Owen are leading this camp which needs a lot of prayer due to a couple of recent events. The assistant ladies leader is unable to come after the sudden death of her mother just a few weeks ago. Another male officer has recently been in hopsital for 5 days with food poisoning and will not be recovered enough in time for camp. Please pray for provision of another, last minute, male officer and for comfort for Alison and her family in their grief.

Older teens are facing greater pressures than ever and camp is often a place where serious issues get shared and discussed. Please pray for the officers to have wisdom in all the responses they give to difficult questions/situations.

Jeremy Bailey (pictured) is going to be preaching from the book of Jonah, whilst the Bible Studies will be looking at the Beatitudes. Jeremy has asked that we pray for the Holy Spirit to take the Word and apply it to the campers hearts. This camp knew a real blessing last year and the dangers of complacency or comparison are very pressing, so please pray for the Lord to do a new work this year.

Other matters for prayer

Camps have continued to fill up slowly over the last few weeks, so thanks very much for your prayers. We now have 448 young people booked on in total, compared with 491 at this time last year. Please pray that more places will be taken up even in the next few weeks.

Please pray for and advertise espcially camp 9 at Quinta from 15-22 August for 16-18 year olds. Quinta require us to block book a minimum of 60 places and in the past we've never had a problem passing that. However, this year we only have 45 including the adult helpers so will have to pay for 15 empty spaces. Please pray for an extra 15 young people before 15th August!
