This week:

10-12s Camp at Bryn-y-groes
13-15s Camp at Bryntirion
Welsh Camps and Aber Conference

This week's prayer letter comes live from the 13-15 camp in Bryntirion, which Jane and I are leading ... done in snatched moments between the various elements of a busy evening programme.

10-12s Camp at Bryn-y-groes

First, however, news from the 10-12 camp in Bala.

Tim Powell, the leader, reports that the young people are listening well to the preaching and that the singing is really good for this age group. The chaplain, Andy Pitt, is basing his messages on key events on mountains in the Bible with Noah on Ararat and the Law at Sinai covered already. The dorm Bible Studies are looking at good and bad examples of being a disciple of Christ.

Two of Tim's team have suffered bereavements in recent weeks and one team member arrived late after attending a funeral and another has to leave for a day to attend another. Please pray for comfort in loss and help in the absence of team members.

One visit to hospital has already happened, but thankfully the camper is back on camp and restored to action. Please continue to pray for safety on all the camps. Risk assessments, great care and supervision cannot rule out accidents but we have a heavenly Father who is able to protect and provide.

13-15s Camp at Bryntirion

The teacher who needed to learn; the man with everything who had nothing; the self-harmer. These are three of the people who Jesus met that we have been introduced to by Alex Collins, chaplain, in our meetings. The young people are singing really well and generally paying attention in the meetings. Please pray, however, for a greater seriousness in response to the messages and that as the young people meet with Christ they may become his followers, or follow more faithfully.

In the dorm Bible Studies the officers are looking at the book of Nehemiah with the campers. Please pray that as campers engage with the word and discuss its application to their lives that there would be a fruitful growth.

We've been blessed with a great recommendation for activities and are enjoying outdoor activites on Ogmore Beach four days this week. Please pray for continued safety and great fun.

Welsh Camps and Aber Conference

There are no English medium camps next week as the conference is on but please do remember to pray for the two Welsh medium camps. Pray too for the Extratime track during the conference that the many young people who attend would enjoy rich fellowship, great encouragement and really get to grips with the Word of God.

Paul Gamston

Chairman of the English Camps Comittee
