Recommendations
For our November email Stuart Olyott has produced a list of twelve recommended books. We have used Stuart’s list to produce an A5 leaflet which you can buy for 99p from any of our shops. With the leaflet is a CD of a talk Stuart gave at the Bala minister’s conference on the topic of “What books should I buy and read”. The talk is a super resource full of humour, wise advice and good guiding principles.

Search the Scritpures
God’s Word is more important than any human book. Search the Scriptures is a daily Bible study course that lasts four years. By means of probing questions it leads us into a healthy understanding of the whole counsel of God and gives us a proper approach to its interpretation. I constantly thank the Lord that this book came into my hands very early in my Christian life.

Atheism is on the march and we meet up with it constantly. Professor Andrews’ book is easy to read, and yet is intellectually brilliant, wonderfully discerning, and often amusing. A ‘must’ for those who want to witness to their colleagues and friends.

In thirteen well-written chapters, Don Stephens tells the fascinating stories of men and women – British, American, Dutch, German and Japanese – who came to the Lord during the two World Wars. Christians will be encouraged and strengthened by reading this book, but my wife and I have found that many non-Christians have enjoyed it too. It is one of the best evangelistic books ever published, and always makes a valued Christmas present.
